New Build Garden Design Near Bicester

Garden Design Near Bicester

Bicester is one of the towns in Oxfordshire that has seen a large expansion of new homes over the last ten years. The gardens are mostly left as a blank canvas, as was the case in this new build garden, in the lovely little village of Ambrosden.

Where to begin with a blank canvas?

Our clients had some ideas about what they wanted, and, probably more importantly about what they didn’t want. In keeping with the style of property and their contemporary taste, our lead designer, Jamie, drew up a plan that reflected the inside – out. This is an important consideration when designing any garden, the interior design should, wherever possible link with the garden, creating an almost seamless transition between the two.

The Garden Consultation

We realise that not all clients need a fully scaled garden design, sometimes ,as was the case with these clients, people are 80% sure of what they want but a little extra creative flair is required. This is where our garden consultation is the perfect package. We provide expert guidance on how to develop garden spaces discussed and choose planting. Jamie create an initial brief with our clients and then produced a layout sketch of the garden.

Day One – Marking out

A year later…

This garden achieves a ‘wow’ factor whilst being a functional space to entertain and relax. It is contemporary in keeping with the house, but the planting is soft and invites exploration – especially by bees and butterflies! The contemporary water feature, makes a good focal point on the entrance to the garden, as well as adding a sense of calm.  A great garden to sit and contemplate nature.

Jamie, Adam and Ed really enjoyed working on this garden design, but most importantly our our clients are thrilled with their new ‘outdoor room’. As a company we get such pleasure re-visiting a garden and hearing what a difference a well designed garden can make. We are very grateful to have been given an opportunity to see this garden thriving and to see how well it is being cared for.
