Sheena's Business Vision

Sheena Marsh founded Oxford Garden Design in 2001 when she changed careers to become a garden designer. She very quickly built up a number of very satisfied clients who increasingly wanted her to also manage the building of their garden.

Following some rather unsatisfactory experiences using sub-contractors, Sheena decided that the only way to really bring her designs to life and be able to control the project to her exacting standards, was to bring on board her own landscapers and so Oxford Garden Design was formed. The business now employs a whole team of designers, project managers, landscapers and horticulturalists, but Sheena still leads the business with style and passion

Sheena writes for the Oxfordshire Living Magazine where she has two pages of gardening hints, tips and views each month. She has appeared as the Gardening Expert on BBC Radio Oxford and won West Oxfordshire ‘Business Person of the Year’ award.

Our friendly team of experienced garden designers and landscapers make amazing gardens! We have a large in-house team at Oxford Garden Design covering all aspects of our design, landscaping and support services. Here are a few of our team members to give you a feel for our approach and the high quality of our people.

Lizzie is the first person you’re likely to talk to when you call Oxford Garden Design. “We deal with a wide variety of clients and I enjoy hearing people’s stories about their gardens. Quite often they apologise about the state that it’s in, but I tell them it doesn’t have to be that way!”

Paul is a Director of our business and joined the team in 2014. Emma and Sheena have been working together on various designs ever since she qualified in Garden Design from the Oxford College of Garden Design in 2007. Emma is a highly creative person who has a natural passion for converting garden spaces into inspiring landscapes. She is skilled at understanding her clients’ requirements.

With 20 years in the landscape industry, Oli has a wealth of knowledge and experience. He is a Chartered Landscape Architect (CMLI) and has been fortunate enough to work on some highly acclaimed and award-winning schemes in both commercial and residential sectors.

While most of the teams are busy working in gardens, Lou makes sure that all runs smoothly in the office. Lou will make sure that you fully understand payment plans for the building of your garden.

Jakub is one of our experienced Senior Team Leaders managing our landscaping work. Once a garden has been designed and quoted for most people go on to have their garden built by Oxford Garden Design. This is when you will meet the senior team leader who will be responsible for building your garden. With over 60 years of experience in landscaping between them, your garden is in safe hands with Jakub, Alberto and Terence leading the team.

Alberto is one of our experienced Senior Team Leaders managing our landscaping work. Once a garden has been designed and quoted for most people go on to have their garden built by Oxford Garden Design. This is when you will meet the senior team leader who will be responsible for building your garden. With over 60 years of experience in landscaping between them, your garden is in safe hands with Jakub, Alberto and Terence leading the team.
