Traditional 4 acre garden

Garden project: peaceful, rural setting

Bringing structure to open grass fields and overgrown woodland area
Soon after people move into a new property they consider making changes to their new garden. In this case there was a lot of open grass fields and the client wanted to introduce more of a structure to the garden with paths, raised beds, a greenhouse an area for growing vegetables and more borders. The garden is set in the beautiful Oxfordshire countryside, with a rather overgrown woodland area and pond – very peaceful and rural in character.

Layout for a 4 acre plot

The client wanted to introduce some structure and formality. Although a keen plantsman, he required some ideas on the layout of the plot, which was about four acres in total. A garden design was required to bring all the elements together in a cohesive way.

The garden work was mostly carried out in the winter months and very muddy conditions. It was hard to believe that by summer it was full of flowers, and humming with the sound of bees from a bee hive the client introduced. A peaceful haven.
