Garden Design Shotover Oxford – Landscaping Steps
Our clients were prompted to get in touch with us after they reached a decision to replace the existing steps leading up to their tennis court. They were looking for design inspiration to solve what to do in relation to these as they were leading to and from a lovely new En-tout-cas tennis court. It was important that they therefore ‘looked the part’ as they were an integral part of the design to this area of the garden where they had already made quite an investment.
Our vision for the garden landscaping
The first task was to produce drawings of the proposed new steps to be in keeping with the overall look and feel of the large garden. The steps had to be natural and functional and it was decided that a crazy paving style would suit the space as well as being more practical. There was a drainage issue, which we overcame by installing a french drain so the steps will not become waterlogged. Our designer, Daniel, came up with an imaginative design…
Building these steps was like putting a jigsaw together without the pieces. Every stone had to be cut to fit the space. – Jakub Soulak, Senior Team Leader, Oxford Garden Design
